NASW-Michigan Committees


Executive Committee

Responsible for Chapter affairs between Board of Directors' meetings.

Chapter Committee On Nominations & Leadership Identification (CCNLI)

Responsible for annually developing of a slate of candidates for available positions on the Board of Directors and the Delegate Assembly, making recommendations for National committees activities, and developing a leadership roster for Presidential appointments.

Finance Committee

Responsible for developing a budget, financial guidelines and supervising the financial affairs of the Chapter.

Legislative/Social Policy Committee

Responsible for plans regarding statewide social policy issues as directed by the Board of Directors.

Program Committee

Responsible for statewide program plans; for the review, monitoring and evaluation of all programs of the Chapter (both local and state); and for making recommendations to the Chapter Board regarding social and political action in Michigan.

Chapter Ethics Committee

Responsible for hearing and determining complaints filed in accord with the association's policy on the adjudication of grievances.

Other Committees

Professional Standards

Responsible for recommending strategies to implement social work professional standards and promote the identity and recognition of those standards.

Michigan Political Action For Candidate Election (M-PACE) Steering Committee

Responsible for helping to elect and keep in office candidates and public officials who support the goals and objectives of the social work profession and its clients.

Special Interest Groups

Provide a network for social workers interested in the same issues to work/advocate for that practice area. The groups will explore legislative issues, fiscal issues and program development issues, and assist the Chapter in addressing those concerns.
